You might have seen him on the big screen, starring as Dr. Carslisle Cullen in the Twilight saga. Or you might have seen Peter Facinelli on TV, playing another doctor on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie. Wherever you have seen him, it might have even been in Fort Wayne. Facinelli came to Jefferson Pointe in August to promote Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a charity that fights “childhood cancer, one cup at a time.” As a proud supporter of the foundation, Facinelli is committed to helping with the battle against childhood cancers. At the event, he signed autographs, took photos and gave a portion of the proceeds to benefit the organization.
The Lemonade Stand charity was founded by Alexandra Scott, a child who was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer, before her first birthday. She told her parents that when she got out of the hospital, she wanted to have a lemonade stand and help other children who were sick.
Today, the charity works to fund research projects at institutions across the country. For more information on how to get involved, visit the foundation's website. For more details about Peter Facinelli and his support of the charity, visit his personal website.
Facinelli's latest appearance as Dr. Carslisle Cullen will be in the newest Twilight film: Breaking Dawn-Part 1, which will be released in theaters on November 18th.
