Downtown's Newest Star: The Sidecar
Trends come and go, but wine is always in fashion! Whether you’re looking for drinks, or a new place to enjoy Downtown Fort Wayne, The Sidecar Patio Bar & Grill on West Jefferson Boulevard is the place for you.
Opened by Wine Down Tastings and Tapas, The Sidecar was made out of a repurposed steel shipping container. Wine Down owner Gary Skeel is hoping to add an additional bar and kitchen area. The bar is 40 feet long and serves slushies in addition to food and a full bar. Skeel found himself in a bar that was designed similarly to Sidecar, and went to Mosaic Building Solutions to bring this new idea to Fort Wayne.
Repurposing is not only good for the environment, but also, it’s good for the cost of starting business. Repurposing the steel shipping container that forms The Sidecar was cheaper than building an entirely new structure. This is a great addition to Wine Down’s recent initiative to recycle.
Yelp users have rated The Sidecar highly since its opening in July.
The Sidecar appears to be a permanent addition to the already-bustling downtown Fort Wayne, and will not be driving away any time soon.
Be sure to check it out before winter!
