Drawing almost half a million people each summer to Fort Wayne, the Three Rivers Festival is an annual nine day celebration, starting Friday, July 8th.
A multitude of events will be going on during the festival, as noted by Operations Manager Michelle Lane. When asked about what events will be occurring during this year's festival, Lane responded, “Well, everything!” Lane discussed the variety of music acts preforming this year, which includes such bands as Night Ranger, and Who’s Bad, A Michael Jackson Tribute Band.
Also occurring this year is the Emporium, which features a large and diverse collection of items for sale, including jewelry and gifts made from local artists. Local food will also be on sale at the Emporium from such restaurants as Tucanos and the Cupbearer Café.
Visitors to the festival will also have the option to take a free 30-minute riverboat tour from Friday, July 8 until Sunday, July 10. The rides will leave from Headwater Park’s West Amphitheater, and travel up the Saint Mary’s River.
The festival will conclude on Saturday, July 16. At 10 pm, fireworks will be launched from the Indiana Michigan Power Center. Prior to the fireworks, visitors will be entertained by the Fort Wayne Community Band, which will be preforming at Freimann Square.
